A pastor in southern India is seeking help to save a teenage girl who has fallen ill and is in critical condition.
The 15-year-old girl was in a hospital in Bangalore when she developed pneumonia, which was confirmed by her doctors, the Sunday Express reported.
Doctors are working to save her life, but her condition is critical.
She has been in the intensive care unit of a private hospital since she was five days old, and has been receiving intensive care for more than a month.
A team of doctors from the Christian Association of India has been visiting her in the private hospital for treatment.
“We have been monitoring her condition and are trying to reach out to other families who are also suffering,” said Dr Sanjay Chaturvedi, chief executive officer of the Christian Alliance of India, a registered charity.
“The condition of the girl is very serious and we are trying our best to reach her parents and arrange a meeting with her parents,” he added.
“She is a beautiful girl, very intelligent and smart.
She has been very supportive of our efforts and we feel we have a lot of hope,” Dr Chaturvingi said.
The girl’s mother, who did not wish to be named, said her daughter was always very kind.
“Our daughter is very sensitive and she always has a smile on her face,” she said.
“There is nothing that can save her but God.”
The case is being investigated by the state police, the Christian Community of India (CCI), and the state government.
